to acknowledge these distinguished members of our Department who have contributed so much to the success of the American Chemical
Society.

The Wayne State University Chemistry Department is delighted to announce the appointment of David Crich as the A. Paul and Carol C. Schaap Professor of Chemistry. Prof. Crich is a world-renowned organic chemist, whose most recent position was that of Distinguished Professor of Organic Chemistry at the University of Illinois-Chicago.

We would like to recognize and congratulate Prof. Stephanie L. Brock for receiving the WSU Career Development Chair Award for 2006-2007.

Professor Arthur Suits has been awarded the 2005 Board of Governors Distinguished Faculty Fellowship.
Professor Charles Winter has been named as the Graduate School's 2005 Outstanding Graduate Mentor.

Dr. Zhibo Yang of the Rodgers group has been awarded the 2005 best student paper in the International Journal of Mass Spectrometry.
