ADV. CHEM. ELECTIVE:   Complete one of the following courses or another advanced chemistry course with prior written approval by a chemistry department advisor.

q 5160(3)[F]; or BOTH 5420(3) [F] (or 5400 [W]) & 5440(4)[W]; or 5510(2)[F]; or 6640(3)[W] OR 5020(3)  [NOTE:  It is recommended that individuals who are considering the possibility of entering a graduate chemistry program or accepting an industrial position in chemistry should also complete CHM 5160 and BOTH 5420 & 5440.  Such individuals may also wish to consider completing the additional requirements for obtaining "Certification by the American Chemical Society."  (Consult an advisor and see below.)

ACS CERTIFICATION OPTION:                                                  

Individuals obtaining the B.A. degree with a major in chemistry may qualify for Certification by the American Chemical Society (the national professional society for chemists) by completing the following additional reqts: MAT 2030- & either 2250 or 2350 or 2150, CHM 5160, 5420 5440; and two of the advanced laboratory courses:  CHM 5510, 5570, 5990                                                                                                           

B.A. WITH HONORS
